It's Prom Night!!!

Hair, make-up, jewelry, shoes and don't forget the dress!! Yes, prom is coming up soon! Between picking out the perfect dress and what hairstyle would go with it can be a little hectic, and this where I come in. Here's a Do's and Don'ts of prom to have a great time!

1. Set a budget and STICK TO IT! You don't have to spend tons of money to have a great time, remember it's just one night.
2. Don't over do your makeup. Sometimes nice and classy is the way to go.
3.Do go with people you LIKE!! Don't associate yourself with people that you don't get along with at prom.
4. Don't do anthing that's not you. If you don't drink or smoke, don't do it; you don't have to do those type of things to have a good time.
5. Do relax and have a GREAT time. Like we all know, this only comes once.
6. Don't entertain the drama. Save that drama for your mama.
7. And the last Dont stress prom, the more stress and worries, the more things that can go wrong. No stress no worries right?

Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking: The illegal trade of human beings for sexual slavery or forced labor.

Human trafficking is the fastest growing and second criminal enterprise in the world, and every country is affected by this. In the U.S alone there up to 100,000 slaves, with 27 million more slaves around the world, mainly in Africa and Asia. Human slavery is very popular because it's cheap due to many factors of the country that it is in. Being that human slavery cheap it is in very high demand. Around 600,000 and 800,000 men, women and children are sold into slavery. Some are sold into forced labor, most women and girls are sold into sex trafficking and. They are forced to work without no pay, no freedom to escape and live everyday in fright and violence. Most slave victims are children around the age of 18 and female, majority of them have been sold by their poor family to slave. Others are vulnerabe and desperate for work, tricked into slavery or kidnapped. The main part of human trafficking is sex. Girls are around the age 12-14 are sold into sex trafficking, what makes this type of trafficking popular is that the slave owner can make 20 times more than what he pay for the girl. The slave owners lure girls in by setting up broken promises and false opportunities, and find themeslves working in strip clubs, massage parlors and as prosititutes. Some escape, but the chances of that are very slim.

Let's STOP the abuse.

Bullying has become a serious epidemic in schools all across the United States. Sadly, one of the most popular new fads is self harm, which is directly linked to bullying. Bullying doesn't happen at a specific age, to specific people or in a specific place in the world: it happens everywhere to everyone. It isn't just kids and teens, either: adults do it to each other, and even parents to their children, making those children future bullies. Bullying is a vicious, never-ending cycle, and will continue unless something is done.

Bullying occurs in various places, but the main places are where children interact; like school, after school programs places according to that. Bullying mostly occurs at school buses, when kids are preparing to get off the bus. This is common place for bullying because they he/she will see this as a good chance to bully that person. Bullying can happen at home too; rivalry among siblings can turn into bullying. Even though children are known to bully each other, adults can participate in bullying. Adults may bully each other if he/she feel a threat to their work or someone taking their "shine"; they may try to belittle the other person's work.Another reason for adult bullying can be he/she does not that person. Bullying not only happen inb public places, but it happens online too. This method of bullying is called cyber bullying, the bully can post mean things about the person and canh gain a lot of attention from it; this form of bullying is popular.

Bullying happens in different places and happens to different people for various reasons, it's on-going cycle that needs to come to a cease. If we take part in helping a student who's being bullied, just by telling a teacher or someone with authority we can decrease the suicide rates of bullying. Do your part, stop the bullying

Valentines day for the boys

With valentine's day being right around the right corner carnations, candy and teddy bears are being placed in every store. Valentines day is a day to show that person he/she matters to you (you should do this everyday) and you appreciate them with gifts. It's the man's job to find the perfect gift, bear, resturant and candy for his female companion , but what does he get in return? What do males REALLY want for valentines day?

So I surveyed 20 males and this what they had to say ...
More males would want their female companions to buy them a pair of newly released shoes over buying them a new game for their game system. The other choices was not really popular, I guess males don't like spending time with their "boo" on valentines.

Welcome to The Bad Girls Club!

The American show the Bad Girls club has arrived in Atlanta! This year brings seven new girls: Valentina, Stephanie, Shannon, Nicole, Paula, Janae and Alicia. As you know they all live in one big house, with different personalities and backgorunds. Before this season we had some crazy girls, who thought they were the BADDEST; with the fights, drama and running the house.  As this new season unfolds I would love to know who was your all time FAVORITE bad girl from previous seasons.

Was it Tanisha, from BGC season 1?

Or the infamous Ms." I run L.A" Natalie Nunn

Save the best for last, crazy creole Judi

And the results are in .....

The baddest bad girl of all time is Natalie Nunn from season 4. Natalie has kept viewers interest for her drama, back stabbing and her famous phrase "I run L.A". Many people agreed that Natalie is the baddest because no one ever tried to question her authority when she was in the house. That kind of explains why Oxygen kept her incorporated with BGC, because she's the baddest of them all!

The 7 Myths

Remember that myth that if you crack your knuckles too much that you will get inflammation of the joints in your hands, which is called arthritis. Or that silly one where if you go swimming after you eat, you can get cramps; yeah, that one is a myth also. Listed below are many rules that you probably grew up following that proven to be NOT true.

1. Swallowing gum stays in your stomach for approximately 7 years.
NOT TRUE. Gum gets picked up by fluids in your digestive system, and goes through your system within few days.

2.You need a full 8 hours of sleep to function correctly.
This rule is also wrong. Amount of hours of sleep a person needs varies on many factors like whether that person is sleep, is enduring some type of physical activity or going through stress.

3. Don't read in low lighted areas

The whole reading in dim light causes blindness, is not true. Yes reading in dim light might put some straining on your eyes and give you headaches, but does not do permanent damage to your eyes.

4. Sugar causes kids to jump on walls
Sugar does not affect children, that theory has been proven wrong.

5. The infamous "5 seconds" rule

A college student name Jillian Clark, found this being a myth. Germs don't have a stop watch on food that falls on the floor/ground.

6. Warm milk will make you go to sleep

The whole myth is psychological, just like sleeping with a stuff animal makes people go to sleep.

Does age REALLY matter?

In United States we have strict laws on age concerning dating and sex, and different laws in different states varies on this matter. The typical age in United States to marry is 18, and that is without parental consent; other states allow that if the teen has a child, that he/she can get married. Laws in other countries are very different, some countries don't have a law regarding the age consent to marry, but the question is does age really matter in terms of marriage. Is there a such thing of being too young or too old to marry? And should we have a international law on marriage?
In Lagos, Nigeria, a 28-year old Nigeria native married a 71-year old European woman and they said they are deeply in love. What do you think?

In rural Afghanistan, an 11-year old girl is set to get married with an 40-year old ma. The young girl said she is sad, because she had dreams of wanting to become a teacher to teach her native language.

Whenever I saw him, I hid. I hated to see him," Tahani (in pink) recalls of the early days of her marriage to Majed, when she was 6 and he was 25. The young wife posed for this portrait with former classmate Ghada, also a child bride, outside their mountain home in Hajjah.  In Yemen, a 6-year old to set to be married off to a 25-year old man.
